    Are you a self-starter looking for an entry level opportunity where you can build a career?  Are looking to apply your experience at a growing company that is the leader in their industry?  Our Risk Management Assistant will provide administrative support to the Manager Credit, Claims and Litigation, and work with the Manager on confidential risk management matters, including accident claims, collections, insurance issues and litigation. 

    Responsibilities

    • Open and maintain Legal Department files for complex claims, collections, pre-litigation and litigation matters
    • Upon completion of training, conduct initial claim investigation for new complex claims, pre-litigation and litigation matters
    • Identify, retrieve and organize internal and external documents relating to a new claim or lawsuit. This may include contacting TRAC Department Managers, TRAC Intermodal customers, TRAC Intermodal vendors, TRAC Interstar vendors, U.S. and Canadian attorneys and insurers.  Prepare memo summarizing claim for Manager’s review
    • Using Company internal systems and external resources: investigate missing chassis assets, determine next action and refer to Claims Adjuster, Billing Supervisor, Pool Manager, etc., as appropriate
    • Review, handle or route incoming email and correspondence. With Manager guidance, respond to written and oral requests from attorneys and insurance professionals
    • Maintain claims and litigation calendar
    • Create reports from internal systems and Excel (including pivot tables)
    • Process approved vendor invoices for payment
    • Track bankruptcy, claim, collection and litigation expenses vs budget

    Qualifications

    • Excellent spelling and grammar. Superior composition and writing skills.  Must be able to compose emails and letters that are professional and factual
    • Superior organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, problem solve and meet deadlines
    • Microsoft Office including advanced Excel
    • Prior experience in the commercial insurance, intermodal or transportation industry is helpful
    • 1+ Years of Experience in an Administrative position
