  • Overview

    The Senior Accountant will support the month end accounting close.  This includes analytical and reporting responsibilities for various P&L and Balance Sheet line items, the preparation of monthly management reports for executive review, and working with other departments to ensure proper reporting.


    • Prepare and analyze revenue for chassis pools and depot services businesses; identify and report on rate vs. volume fluctuations as well as any other factors causing variances
    • Analyze assigned P&L expenses along with their related balance sheet accounts
    • Communicate with various departments to understand and report on revenue and assigned expense fluctuations
    • Prepare and distribute the Revenue Cube
    • Analyze billing activity by period for use in the credit reserve
    • Support the operations team from the field with PO/Inventory issues in Multiview
    • Liaison between AP and operations teams to ensure proper and timely invoicing of parts inventory PO’s.
    • Various Quarterly reporting related to assigned accounts
    • Accounting lead for PO/Inventory sub-ledger in Multiview
    • Coordinate and report on physical inventory counts for Depot and MSU parts, as well as recording resulting entries
    • Perform GL vs. parts inventory and GL vs. PO subsystem roll-forwards and reconciliations
    • Write, modify and enhance procedures for related areas, particularly due to the implementation of the new EBS system
    • Perform balance sheet analysis and aid in settlement of lessor units (chassis that are not owned, have been destroyed by our customers and require settlement with their owner)
    • Provide audit support in the preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules
    • Participate in projects related to areas of responsibility that are in addition to monthly and quarterly tasks
    • Liaise between the Accounting and Planning Departments. This involves analytic review of the actual versus projected financial results
    • Assist various departments and provide financial information as needed


    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
    • A minimum of 5 years accounting/finance or related business experience is required
    • Must think creatively, and possess excellent analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication competence as well as strong interpersonal skills a must
    • Above average competency using Microsoft Excel (must be able to demonstrate/talk about mastery in the use of pivot tables and Vlookups). General working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software required  
    • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads
    • Ability and willingness to discuss accounting concepts and requirements with staff from other departments
    • Must be able to competently handle multiple competing tasks simultaneously
    • Must be familiar with database concepts (e.g. Oracle tables)
    • An MBA, CPA or other financial certification would be a plus, but not required
    • Oracle ERP system experience a plus
    • Travel between the Montvale and Princeton offices as needed
    • Job requires extra hours, particularly during the close. This could include weekends, primarily on the quarters and year-end
    • Work has stringent deadlines
