  • Overview

    The Regional Sales Manager will oversee multiple sales representatives in their territory and set the goals and strategies for their team. They will manage budgets, present new products, organize sales quotas, and set quarterly and annual sales goals. The Regional Sales Manager will represent their team to the sales directors and vice presidents of the company. The overall essence is to assist the sales team in building and maintaining marketing campaigns for a range of customers with the goal of rapid, sustainable growth in the OTR segment and stability within intermodal. This will entail day to day involvement with the Account Managers as well as more larger scale collaboration with senior management as it pertains to direction and company initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns; collaborate with Marketing Manager
    • Solidify Channel Strategies with future growth
    • Lead efforts to uncover the viability of current and existing products/services
    • Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, measuring results
    • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives
    • Analyze potential strategic partner relationships for future endeavors
    • Manage sales management staff and provide direction regarding resources and sales strategies, establishing territories, quotas and training.
    • Coordinate sales distribution of products or services to facilitate the sales process.
    • Manage the sales generation in districts and major accounts within a large geographical area for one or more of the company's product line.

    • Developing specific plans to ensure growth both long and short-term
    • Educating sales team with presentations of strategies, seminars and regular meetings
    • Reviewing regional expenses and recommending improvements
    • Assisting sales personnel in their techniques
    • Collaborating with senior executives to establish and execute a sales goal for the region
    • Managing a sales team to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed corporate-set goals

    Qualifications

    Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, or related field; Masters preferred

    Experience:
    5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or related field

    Skill Set:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
    • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
    • Fluent with MS Office programs and technically savvy
    • Training and coaching skills; requiting
    • Direct, inside, and outside sales skills; promotional skills
    • Customer Service experience and mindset; account management expereince
    • Time management skills
