  • Overview

    The TRAC Interstar Vendor Relations Manager will be responsible for establishing the vendor network strategy and management processes to achieve targeted financial and operational objectives in a rapidly evolving and growing industry. Key focus areas will be selecting and managing a diverse portfolio of nationwide repair vendors that specialize in the transportation and logistics sector, as well as implementing best policies and practices to support a world class emergency road service customer and vendor service center.

    Responsibilities

    • Create a long term strategy- including intermediate milestones and objectives, to forecast, manage and control emergency road service repair expenses and service levels.
    • Establish / upgrade nationwide network of cost-effective and high service quality repair vendors that will maximize TRAC Interstar’s gross margin and overall profitability while creating a great customer experience.
    • Establish and manage vendor service level and cost processes to ensure compliance with required performance.
    • Evaluate opportunities to streamline and improve vendor related processes, including forecasting, issue resolution, vendor evaluation and vendor relations.
    • Evaluate and implement best practices technology as appropriate, including development of an automated efficient vendor selection process, to improve financial performance, enhance the company’s brand and create a great customer experience.
    • Work closely with Operations colleagues, the Commercial team and others to maximize new business opportunities.
    • Review and institute best practices related to vendor and service partner agreements including validation of proper insurance coverages.
    • Champion and track operational efforts taken to address contract and / or agreement change requests.
    • Establish and implement monitoring and evaluation reports to inform the organization of the status, forecast, milestones and timetable for procurement related costs and activities.
    • Provide expert guidance to the organization on all matters related to procurement and supply chain management, and overall business process improvement.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Formalized training and experience in process improvement, achieving organizational efficiencies, service improvement and change management.
    • Minimum 10 year history of leading the successful transformation and management of highly effective vendor relations programs. Experience should include a track record of significant achievement in the transportation and logistics sector, with particular emphasis in the trucking industry.
    • Experience and expertise with vendor evaluation, maximizing vendor performance versus expectations, and successful problem resolution.
    • Excellent track record of developing highly effective cross-functional partnerships.
    • Excellent track record of developing excellent external relationships.
    • Recognized leader and developer of individuals and teams.
    • Expert analytical skills and financial acumen.
    • Track record of using technology to streamline operations, increase profitability and improve the customer experience.
    • Proven Experience negotiating contracts and vendor agreements
    • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and enact resolution quickly.
    • Superior communication and presentation skills. Must be comfortable and effective internally and externally, with individual contributor as well as executives.
    • High sense of urgency, nimble and customer (internal and external) centric.
